2014 Located in PAL’S Roof Top Garden. A Memorial for Jack Thorne by Joy Coghill. Landscape by Jane Durante. This Leaf Weathervane is ultra sensitive to wind direction. Stainless Steel, 3 ft. x 9 ft. As metaphor for our environment, I chose to represent the vascular anatomy of the leaf for it’s potency as a renewable energy system of incredible efficiency. Clearly the ability to photosynthesize water,sunlight and CO2 into stored carbon energy while expiring oxygen to balance the biosphere is a process that enables our survival. Pioneer Spirit

2010 I have recently installed Pioneer Spirit as Coquitlam’s Centennial interpretive sculpture for the French enclave Maillardville. This sculpture is the first I have made which will pay for itself over time. Four large sails and an array of solar panels will generate power which will be sold back to BC Hydro. Bird Song Listening Station

2008 Location: Seattle Center This interactive listening station is powered by the wind and sun. Participants standing under the sound dome will hear high fidelity bird song from the Western Finches frequenting the site. 2000 This truck once worked the blueberry fields that are now all blacktopped. As the trembling Aspen grow larger the ‘52 Ford will rise higher. Nature and technology are truly engaged in this piece.
